Summer School
Our summer school programmes stand out because of our balance between structured learning and fun activities. We focus not only on academic progress but also on creative, hands-on learning experiences like arts and crafts and coding camps. Our goal is to make sure children enjoy their learning experience while reinforcing key subjects.
Our summer school in the UK runs for five weeks, starting from the last week of July and concluding in the last week of August. This gives children ample time to learn, improve their skills, and have a lot of fun during the summer break.
Our summer classes in the UK are designed for children aged 5 to 11 years old. We split children by their year group within each key stage to make sure the lessons are age-appropriate and accommodate their learning needs.
It’s normal for a child to cry during their initial state at kindergarten of semi-independence. Please remember that it’s a natural, healthy response to the love you’ve given them so far… For transitions and promotions, too, we create a plan that’s tailored to their personality traits.
Our summer school programmes are designed as a five-week course to give children the full benefit of structured learning and fun activities. Unfortunately, we do not offer individual weeks, but your child can attend for the entire duration or choose to join our full summer programme next year.
We recommend that parents walk their Kindergarteners to the playground for at least the first few days of school. Park on the street or in the lot at St. James Church and walk your child into the kindergarten playground.
Additional information is available on our Arrival and Dismissal Procedures page.

SATs
SATs, short for Standard Assessment Tests, are taken by children in Year 6 before they head off to secondary school. They are national tests that assess their understanding of maths and English and help schools see how well the curriculum has been taught.
No, there’s no “fail” when it comes to SATs. These tests are there to highlight your child’s strengths and spot any areas they might need help with as they move up to secondary school. It’s all about guiding their progress, not judging it.
Every child is different, but we usually recommend starting preparation at the start of Year 6 to give them plenty of time to build up their skills without stress. That said, it’s never too late to get started; we will support them wherever they are on their journey.
